Dag 34, Albi 90km
What a day! 1700m of climbing, (1700m uphill, 2400m downhill) . It all started on a wrong note. We got lost in Rodez and had an extra climb out of the Aveyron escarpement, 1,8km at an average of 7,6% with a peak of 34% uphill battle. The daily dosis of cafeïne made it all good.
Additionally we were offered a cup of coffee and some cake by a friendly lady farmer who saw our suffering.
The highlight was an unexpected view of the train bridge over the Viaur, a 220m arch bridge build in 1902 by Bodin, a competitor of Eiffel.
With an arrival at our hotel past 6 o’clock it was a long, long tiring day. We decided to call it a fantastic day : we experienced great hospitality, had magnificient views and it is all good for our health.
